God is at work

Team Nepal update here on the eve of day 2! Its only been two days but it has felt like so much longer! I felt led to write tonight before we head into Principle 3 just to share a bit about how in awe i am of the way God is moving in peoples hearts...

I'm overwhelmed. In like that good, God you are amazing way. Last week was a tough week with three of team Nepal dropping off the team for various reasons. I questioned whether the Lord desired our team to move forward. I prayed earnestly not wanting to move forward without being in-step with Him. He continued to confirm to walk forward in faith in Him. God has already been showing me His goodness... just a few days later.

One of the concerns that came up last week was the finances for the trip. With some people dropping off it made us meeting budget a challenge. God has provided in AMAZING ways! I can't even tell you. Thank you for any of you reading this who have given. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!  One supporter/friend said its just the Lords money in such a humble way. I felt completely humbled by her saying that. Wow. Thank you guys and THANK YOU LORD! He truly does deserve all the praise!!  Just now i was sitting with student who was a little short in his support, and another athlete came up to him to tell him he was a few hundred over and wanted to try to give it to him. Wow. wow.

Although our team has narrowed down (6 people total) i've been in awe of the vulnerability and realness that we've been experiencing already within our group. Just another sign of God at work! Thank you Jesus!!!

Signing off now to go to Principle #3... but wanting to praise God for an amazing team (thank you jim, josh, jarrod, zac and soon jeremiah) for being on this team, and thank you God for all the amazing supporters and friends who have given for the needs of this team and are praying!!!!!  Thank you all!!!

nepal team arrives

It is Sunday late afternoon on June 14, 2009.  Team Nepal is not quite complete, but we are coming together.  We are presently hanging out in the AIA Tennis headquarters in Xenia, Ohio getting to know each other.  Jarrod has arrived today from California.  Jim and Josh have been here a few days and Lindsay lives here.  We are excited about what God will do this week as he brings us together before we head over to Nepal.  Being united for this trip is very important.  So for the next few days we will be doing some things that draw us together.  It is about time to head to dinner and to go get Zac.  So, here we go.  Gone!

ps - i wonder what Zac is wearing

10 days till training camp begins for AIA tennis team 2009!

Only ten more days till the 2009 AIA Tennis team gathers in Xenia, OH! The team is assembled!!! We have nine people traveling to Nepal this summer and we are all so pumped!!! The team in Nepal has been working on putting together a tennis tournament with the following age groups: boy/girls 12s, 14s, 16s, and then Mens 35s and 45s and womens and mens open and mixed doubs.

Thank you all for your prayers for our team and if you can continue to pray that God would go before and prepare the way for what He has planned. We are all still trusting God to raise our needed funds for the trip. Pray that God our Provider would meet all of our needs. Pray He would as well keep us safe in the journey ahead.

Jim R., team discipler, and Lindsay S., team director, have been praying for our time at training camp with four other teams, and also our team times overseas. May God be beheld and made known and may hearts be changed by the power of the gospel.

We thank you all for your prayers! Check back again soon for more from our team...

For the joy of all the peoples,

Lindsay
