"God is most glorified when we are most satisfied in him."
The first day in Ohio was an adventure as our team began to let go of our past and home lives, and invest in each other. As girls traveled into Ohio from all over the U.S., from Centerburg and Xenia, Ohio, Alabama, Mississippi, Boston, New York, Tennessee, Michigan, Virginia, Kansas, and as far west as Arizona and California. The days are full of activities as we began our day with worship, and then the speaker talked about the principals where God life and Sports unite. Later in the day we had a successful volleyball practice, laughing and working hard to play together as a team. All of us girls seem to get along really well, resulting in good team chemistry which makes practices that much more enjoyable. The first principal we learned about, Audience of One, came from the story in 2 Kings 18, where Elijah showed the prophets of Baal who is the only one worth worshiping. There is nothing else more important in sport and life that worshiping the one who first loved us. In Volleyball, it is easy to be caught up in the moment of the game, fans, emotion and competition. So how do we really practice playing for Christ alone? As this questions stirs in our heart, and as we began to struggle with how to glorify Christ in our play, we will continually study the rest of the principals and put them into practice through our daily labs. These labs teach us how to work together as we split up in to teams with all the athletes that came to the training camp, and as we grow in faith, deepen our love for God and become a volleyball player for an audience of one.
