Update from Russia

Greetings from southern Russia.  I am with an AIA USA Basketball Team here for for 4 days of clinics for teenage players, and a game against the Os. allstar team.  The team's first three days were spent at the Ch. sports training center near Moscow.  We had a good team meeting with the junior national women's basketball team for Russia.  We share about AIA and a player gave his testimony.  Each of the girls received an AIA DVD with 8 sport films and the Jesus film.  Today we did a clinic with 25 teenage basketball players and were cheered on by over 200 school kids.  All heard testimonies and received team brochures with individual player photos, a testimony and the four spiritual laws.  We are escorted by police where eveer we travel.  They had a bomb squad sweep the sport complex beofr the team arrived.  Please pray for our safety.  We have a game everyday next week, here in V., then in N.  Next we drive in a small bus through the night to Vo.  There we have four games.  We will finish the tour on an overnight train to Moscow and some sightseeing in the capital on June 15.  Early morning June 16th the team flies back to the USA.  We have 5,000 brochures to distribute, 100 sport New Testaments for opposing players, as well as 200 DVDs for officials, coaches and other VIPS.  Please pray for us as we share the gospel.  I am the tour discipler, leading spiritual time each day with the guys.  Thanks for your prayers.

Praise the Lord for your safe travel. Know that we are praying for you daily! "Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people, from this time forth and forevermore." Psalm 125:1-2

Great to hear the latest from Russia! I'm so excited to see how God is using you in ways I'm sure you never imagined. We are praying for your safety, health, and especially that God will place you exactly where He wants you for the ministry He has planned for this trip.

My Thursday morning Bible study ladies are praying specifically for you, as well as our church body (our pastor prayed specifically for all you guys last Sunday as you traveled).

Colossians 1:9-10 "...we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding...in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way, bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God."

    Love, Mom J.

It's amazing what God is doing and going to do through your witness. His Word never returns void and the seeds you are planting will bear fruit into eternity. We are praying for your safety and for this trip to be life-changing for you all and for the young people you are coming in contact with. "And yet for this reason I found mercy, in order that in me as the foremost [sinner], Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience, as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life. Now to the King, eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen." 1 Tim. 1: 16-17.

To Eric: We got an email from your 2nd cousin, Derrick Brown. He got to take the day off (from Patrols) on Friday; went to see the Eagles cheerleaders perform. When they asked for volunteers from the audience, his friends yelled that it was his birthday & he & 5 others had to lead some cheers! Embarassed, but a change in routine for him, in Iraq. Close call with an IED in April. Good to read your blogs; praying for you guys, & our troops. Your GREAT uncle Clarence
