I am encouraged to see how the team is connecting and already building a base of trust and relationship.
The team had a 3 hour practice this morning. Coach Smart’s experience is evident as he is leading the girls well and connecting in a personal way. With 7 players our team is going to be pushed to the max as some days we will play two games in Colombia.
In the afternoon, we began what AIA calls the Biblical Principles. Each day the team will spend a couple hours in a discipleship or team time where they will study what God has to say about sport and life.
The first principle, Audience of One, begins to unpack the topic of idols. The scripture that the team studied is I Kings 18:20-40.
In the evening we went to the AIA baseball game here on site. AIA has a team in the Great Lakes Wood Bat League. There was a buzz of conversation and interest from others to hear about this basketball team that is going to Colombia!
