What is an AIA Game Changer?

AIA Game Changers are friends of Athletes in Action who understand that athletes have a unique platform around the world which can be used to transform lives through the power of the gospel. Game Changers are willing to come off the bench by making a monthly financial investment of $30 (or some other amount) to help Athletes in Action change the course of the game.

"AIA Game Changers want to help Athletes in Action have a Christ-follower on every team, in every sport, in every country!"

They want to help Athletes in Action extend its vision in the following areas:

  • Campus Ministry -

    The campus ministry dreams of a day when there is a Christ-follower on every team, in every sport, on every campus.  This will be accomplished by the following areas of emphasis in a 2020 plan.

    • New Campuses: An Athletes in Action staff member on each of the 120 football division 1 schools in the bowl subdivisions
    • SportLinc: An Athletes in Action presence on over 1,200 campuses via SportLinc
    • Diversity Initiative: Place staff and increase our diversity on traditional campuses and historically Black college campuses

     

  • Global Ministry -

    The Athletes in Action USA ministry will purpose to serve the global Athletes in Action staff by providing resources and expertise to a growing global movement of sports ministry.  The 2020 plan includes the following.

    • Resourcing national growth and development: grow to over 150 countries with an Athletes in Action presence
    • Training/sending: train countries and provide the resources so 50 countries are "sending" sport ministers around the world
    • Evangelism: working to connect over 500,000,000 people a year to Jesus Christ through the platform of sport.  
    • Discipleship - We are working with over 50,000 disciples worldwide who are multiplying there efforts to see other sport influencers be connected to Jesus

     

  • Media -

    Athletes in Action media will purpose to expose over two billion people to the gospel by the year 2020.  We see media as the tool to serve the body of Christ.  This will be accomplished by the following:

    • Olympic and World Cup initiatives: multiple languages and broadcast globally
    • New media:  utilization of social media, cell phone downloads, satellite and global broadcasts, etc. 

     

  • Pro Ministry -

    The Athletes in Action pro ministry will continue to use the platform of the pro athlete to share Christ with millions around the world.  This will be accomplished by the following:

    • Training and development of pro staff and associates globally
    • Increased effectiveness in the area of evangelism by maximizing training and exposure opportunities

     

  • Sports Teams -

    To see a Christ-follower on every team in every sport in every nation

    • To help pioneer a ministry presence in 30 countries
    • To train 5,000 sports influencers from 75 countries
    • To see a billion people exposed to the gospel through sports teams initiatives
