AIA to hold first Volunteer Training Conference in LA on Sept. 20
Athletes in Action is holding its first one-day Volunteer Leader Training Conference this Saturday, September 20, in Los Angeles, Calif. Volunteers will be trained in leading or assisting on an AIA international tour for the summer of 2009 and beyond.
Volunteers do not have to be athletes or coaches to participate. This training will help build individuals in their leadership skills and expand their opportunities and effectiveness in mission work and building ministry movements that will change the world.
Trained volunteers can greatly increase the number of sports teams that AIA will be able to send out to all areas of the world. Their goal is to send out 50 teams in the summer of 2009.
Christians from churches and other mission organizations at all different levels of maturity and experience are encouraged to participate in the training and will benefit from it. Go to http://volunteers.athletesinaction.org/default.aspx for more information.
