AIA First Alumni Reunion Scheduled for October

Now Open to all AIA Alumni
The weekend of October 28-30, Athletes in Action will hold its first alumni reunion at the AIA World Training and Resource Center in Xenia, Ohio. The reunion will be drawing former staff members, sports team members and others who served with AIA sometime during its inception in 1966 through 1989 through 2011.
Due to a number of inquiries, the AIA reunion is now open to all AIA alumni from any past year.
Athletes in Action founder Dave Hannah will be there, along with former AIA president Wendel Deyo, who now owns and runs the Kings Domain camp in Lebanon, Ohio. Current AIA president Mark Householder will also address the alumni.
“This reunion is long over-due!” Householder says. “These AIA veterans were the catalysts and creative planners who worked and prayed and in God’s power, propelled AIA to where we are today: 500 volunteers and staff members in over 75 countries!
“These are key people who have invested in AIA but we have lost connection with them. We want to bring them back to help them reconnect with AIA and with old friends,” Householder adds. “We’re hoping that a number of alumni will attend and catch a vision for AIA again.”
One afternoon of the reunion, the alumni will take a guided tour of the sports complex and hear the rich and colorful history of the former Ohio Soldiers' and Sailors' Orphans' Home (1868-1963) on the Xenia, Ohio, property.
There will be opportunities for the alumni to interact and swap stories and photos, and to hear from current AIA leaders about the global outreach, the newest international projects and stories from around the world. AIA has kept the cost low, and meals are covered in the cost of registration.
