Athletes in Action Opportunity: X-Project Internship

If you want to get real experience in your field, deepen your faith and have some serious fun this summer, the X-Project is right for you! The X-Project is a nine week internship program created to expose you to the joy of a radically Christ-centered life through deep Christian community, personal discipleship, ministry training, and hands-on experience at the World Headquarters of Athletes in Action in Xenia, Ohio.

What Would I Do?

Journalism, marketing, graphic design, athletic training, sports management…whatever skills and passions you bring will be put to use 30-35 hours a week either on our state-of-the-art Sports Complex or in our administrative offices. In addition, we’ll meet several times each week as a project for bible study, discipleship, ministry and leadership training, and much more.

When Is It?

Arrive on May 28th
Depart on July 31

Where would I live?

Student interns will live with host families in the area that will provide most of your meals throughout the summer.

How much does it cost?

The cost for the X-Project is only $1,600 per student. And nearly a third of that cost is returned to you in cash in the form of a weekly food stipend. Never raised support for a missions project? No worries -- we will help you raise the cost of the project by sending you an information packet once you’ve been accepted and a staff coach to talk you through it.

Why should I come?

Listen to some of comments of past X-Project students:

“I’ve gained confidence in my field and confidence within relationships – learning how to invest well into others. I’ve learned so much about who I am, how others perceive me, what my strengths are, and where I need to grow.” – Ashley Eggenberger

“God taught me a lot about relationships this summer. Watching the married AIA staff do life taught me what a real Christ-focused marriage looks like.” – Amber Pope

“I was stretched to be more bold in my faith, take the role of a leader, and stand out in my walk with Christ.” – Ernest Jordan
