The Athletes in Action Baseball Field is completely outfitted in AstroTurf's latest version of all-weather field turf. The only dirt on the field is on the mound. Fully covered stadium seating accommodating 550 spectators is under construction and will be completed in the summer of 2008. Grass berms for additional seating surround much of the playing field. Training facilities include four bullpen mounds and two 70'by 30' batting cages which can be sectioned off into tunnels and smaller "15' by 15' station-sized" cages. The field is home to Athletes in Action's Baseball team which competes in the MLB-sponsored Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League. It was designed--and is fully equipped--to host games and practices, instructional events and showcases.

Matt Richter joined Athletes in Action in the fall of 2007 to oversee the baseball field at the AIA Sports Complex. Originally from Southern California, Matt played his college baseball as a catcher and 1 st Baseman at the University of Arizona , and then Westmont College in Santa Barbara , CA . The highlight of his college playing career was the summer tour he took with Athletes in Action Baseball in 1998. After college, Matt traveled to Asia to train and equip high school and college baseball players. He went on to coach at Westmont College for four seasons along with short coaching stints at Azusa Pacific University and at the high school level. Matt has also worked with Baseball Factory and Team One Baseball as a coach, instructor, scout, and consultant. He is married to Heather and has four children-Adrianna, Camden , Adilyn, and Caleb.
